Licensed in 2003, I worked as a school counselor, following a first career as a middle school teacher. I also worked as a marriage and family therapist with a broad spectrum of clients. In 2016 I closed my Twin Falls, Idaho practice and moved with my husband to Boise to help care for pre-mature grandchildren and an aging parent. We left our farm in the Twin Falls area and settled happily in east Boise. I love being a counselor, and I look forward to working with you.
I am seasoned, compassionate, authentic, and person-centered, providing support and practical feedback as you grow through life's challenges. I often integrate complementary techniques such as mindfulness relaxation, art, music, and movement to help you discover and nurture the strengths I believe each of us has within.
In addition to counseling adults and teens, I taught as an adjunct faculty member at College of Southern Idaho, (Bioethics, Human Sexuality, Recognizing Child Abuse, and Parenting). I am a former affiliate instructor for Northwest Nazarene University as a Counselor Educator (trauma counseling and play therapy). I am past president of the Idaho Counseling Association; have presented at State conferences, The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and to general audiences on the topics of positive psychology, mindfulness, trauma recovery, parenting, sexuality, sand tray therapy, stress management, anger, grief, and relationship building.
